Completion Date: January 1, 2008
Categories: LNG, Liquids & Petrochemical Terminals, Construction

The Marine Facilities are designed for unloading a wide range of LNG vessels, up to 264,000 CM (Q-Max).  Each berth includes an Unloading Platform, 5 LNG Unloading Arms, Gangway, Fire Monitor Tower, 6 Mooring Dolphins, 3 Breasting Dolphins with fenders, Mooring Hooks, walkways and an Integrated Berthing and Load Monitoring System.  Tug Berths to support 4 tractor tugs are also included.

Unloading Platforms are on 54 in concrete cylinder piles supporting precast pile caps and deck slabs with cast-in-place deck.  Flexible dolphins are supported by Monopiles between 8 ft and 10 ft diameter, up to 180 ft in length.  Dolphin topsides are prefabricated steel assemblies welded to the monopiles.  Roadway and Pipe Way Trestles are on  36” diameter steel piles up to 133 ft in length, precast pile caps and precast box beams with cast-in-place deck.  Fireproofed steel mezzanines support LNG piping.  Design concept utilizes precast and pre-fabricated segments to minimize the construction time over water. This fast track EPC project proceeded successfully on a cooperative, teamwork approach with the Owner and Client to insure critical operational requirements were achieved while maintaining the highest levels of safety and quality during the construction process.
